Blizzard invited us to try a pre-release version of the game a few weeks ago, and we brought you that experience through our Review-in-progress of the game. If you’re still on the edge about whether to get Diablo 4 or not, well we might have something to help with that. However, if you’re playing on any of the console versions of the game, we’re sorry to say that there is no way to see your FPS, as that option was only added on the PC version of Diablo 4. Otherwise, you can brag about how well your machine runs the game with your friends. If it’s faltering at certain moments, then you might want to lower certain settings to help it run smoother, like reducing particle effects, shadows, or even texture quality. With this information you can now make sure of how your PC is handling Diablo 4′s gameplay.

To make it disappear, simply press “CTRL+R” again. Once you hit the key combo, the counter will stay on the screen until you choose to turn it off. There’s absolutely no need to dig into the main menu or the settings for the option to display it. All you need to do is press “CTRL+R” at any point while playing the game, and the FPS counter will appear in the bottom left corner of your screen. If you want to keep track of this statistic, it’s incredibly easy to do thank’s to Blizzard adding a simple shortcut to see your FPS. Almost every modern title allows you to display this number on-screen, and Diablo 4 isn’t the exception. If you’ve been playing on PC for a long time then you already know what an FPS counter is, but in case you need a refresher, it’ s a helpful tool that’ll tell you at all times how many FPS (Frames Per Second, not “First Person Shooter”) your computer is managing to deliver while playing a game. And while we already knew what kind of PC you’d need to play when Blizzard released the official hardware pre-requisites, some people like to make sure they’re keeping up with the action on-screen.

Diablo 4 is now available for those who preordered the Deluxe and Ultimate digital editions of the game, with everyone else being able to jump into Sanctuary in just a few more days.
